Acrylic, mixed media (rice paper and sculpture paste) on cotton canvas.
Poised in a moment of grounded grace, Blooming Ballerina honours strength in stillness. Her stance is deliberate, her gaze softened. She holds a moment between rehearsal and reverie.
This work is based on a photograph by Jason Slape of Eddie Slim Photography and inspired by the expressive movement of Bianca Carnovale the Ballet Busker. It brings the raw beauty of classical form into a layered, intuitive world. The florals bloom behind her like a memory or a force of nature, hinting at both vulnerability and power.
Part of my Blooming Veil collection, this 122 x 92 cm canvas is richly textured and unapologetically bold. The palette hums with purples, ochres, blush and indigo, wrapped in petal-like strokes and anchored with golden dotwork and sculptural details. A halo of delicate white dots shimmers around the tutu’s edge and softens the space between figure and background.
Framed in black float frame (shown in second image) and ready to hang, this piece holds presence on any wall. It offers quiet resilience, movement and story.
Perfect for collectors drawn to feminine strength, expressive florals and contemporary mixed media.
Please note colours may vary slightly between screens. This piece is framed. Contact me for international postage options. She would pair wonderfully with a second ballerina (Blooming Ballering II - think of them as two chapters from the same book). A bonus discount should be applied if both ballerinas are added to the cart automatically.
