"In 2024, I visited Sardinia for my project “Brigantinas, The Smell of Burnt Stones”, which explores subalternity and land struggles in contemporary Sardinia. Throughout a long history of domination, the land has been central to Sardinian subjectivity—as a place of both oppression yet also a place of possibility and resistance.
As part of my research, I visited Costiolu farm, a historic site in Barbagia. I took this photograph during the visit of the archeological site (nuraghe) on the farm domaine, led by the brothers Costiolu."
