This is an incredibly deep colour, which belies its age. Even more impressive is the fulsome nose of iris, crème de cassis and raspberries. The palate is wonderfully complex and moreish, with flavours of liquorice, rosemary, violets, leather and sublime red and black fruits. It has wonderful intensity, drive, definition, generosity of texture and balance, remaining incredibly young and primary and only just beginning to hit its stride. A truly outstanding wine. The blend of 96% Shiraz and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon was aged for 18 months in large American oak barrels.
