Hunter and Mule Deer by the Naughton Power Plant, Kemmerer, Wyoming, 2010
Print size: 22 x 32 cm including white border
“The American West is famous for being wild. The regions I photograph are some of the least populated in the United States: In rural Wyoming, for instance, there are still more deer than people. Here, a mule deer looks back at a hunter before running to the relative safety of the Naughton Plant in Kemmerer, Wyoming.
Mining and burning coal to make electricity is Kemmerer's biggest industry. People who live in the small town speak about the importance of open space. Most of their jobs extract from the land.”
