The Gitzo GK2542-82QD Tripod Kit includes the GT2542 Mountaineer Series 2 carbon fibre eXact tripod and GH3382QD Series 3 centre ball head. The tripod supports up to 18kg and the legs, when fully extended, reach a maximum height of 167cm (with centre column extended). This kit is aimed at professional photographers who own large digital SLRs with heavy telephoto lenses attached (such as a 200mm). The head comes supplied with an independent pan lock to make horizontal adjustments and a separate knob for friction control.

GH3382QD Ball Head

GH3382QD is the large sized head ideal for Series 2 and 3 Mountaineer tripods, and matches well with most other Gitzo tripods Series 2 and above. Compared to the smaller versions, GH3382QD has a larger ball and quick release adapter, for strong and comfortable use with heavier equipment. It is supplied with the standard, Arca-Swiss compatible plate (GS5370D), but is also compatible with all of Gitzo's D profile plates and fits most Arca-Swiss style plates from other brands.
