Like the Lavaut, the more restrained nose possesses plenty of sauvage character that adds breadth to the complex array of red currant, plum, earth, underbrush and humus-suffused aromas. There is excellent volume and an intense minerality present on the broad-shouldered and extract-rich flavors that display a dusty mouth feel on the impressively long and deep finish. This should reward both longer-term cellaring but it is less backward and austere than usual and thus should be approachable after only 5 to 7 years of bottle age. 92/2024+
