We found these two masterpiece scarves just beyond the dusty and crusty old palace gates in Bhuj. What a sight to behold! Squeals and squawks of excitement ensued, and now we share our enthusiasm with you in these gorgeous acquisitions. Two color stories to choose from but both with unbelievably fine Soof handspun wool and silk hand-embroidery. “Soof” means “neat and clean” and these two masterpieces are exemplary examples of this definition. These two beauties hail from India, in the textile capital, Gujarat. The finest silk threads are used for the hand-embroidery on the finest Soof wool. Meticulous cross motifs are found on both scarves albeit in different color stories and unique designs. The stunning coral salmon color has periwinkle, emerald green and black silk cross designs as well an intricate geometric pattern along the fringed ends in the same color story, along with burgundy and silver checked pattern. The soft violet colored scarf has regal chartreuse gold silk embroidered crosses in varying shades of gold all linked with linear dots to form an exquisite check pattern. Both scarves measure 68” L x 12” W, as well as fine knotted fringe ends.
