1950s Mid Century modern, fit and flare dress!. No tags, this dress was probably home sewn or custom made, as most seams are encased in seam tape and there are professionally bound buttonholes. The fabric is textured striped taffeta (possibly acetate) in colors of: black, grey/silver and light lavender. There is also a metallic gold thread running along the stripes too, very striking! This crisp, almost stiff fabric has no stretch to it. The dress has a high V neck and self covered buttons from neck to hem. The bodice has dolman 3/4 sleeves and gussets under the arms. The sleeve ends in a cuff. Very full A line skirt attaches at natural waist and ends below the knee. Best of all, there are side pockets! Photoed with a petticoat and belt, neither of which are included. Would make a lovely cocktail outfit with some black pumps and a clutch purse!
