The edge that erosion left behind.
A flat band of sterling silver, brushed to a matte grain and left open at the back of the wrist. The body is measured, composed -- the kind of surface that comes from deliberate hand-finishing in Enri Mars's workshop in Imola. But along the upper rim, discipline breaks. A continuous ridge of raw, irregular erosion runs the full circumference: cratered, pitted, darkened by oxidation into something that reads less like metalwork and more like a geological fault line.
This is the tension that defines Enri Mars. Wabi-sabi made structural. The flat profile sits clean against the wrist, cool silver pressing into skin with a weight that registers before you see it. Above, the raw edge catches light unevenly -- each pit and fracture casting its own small shadow, deepening with oxidation into valleys that no tool could replicate. The brushed surface carries the directional marks of hand-finishing, a texture you feel under the thumb when you run it across the band.
It is a cuff that appears excavated rather than crafted. Handmade in Italy using traditional techniques, each piece arrives with its own erosion pattern -- no two edges identical, no two shadow lines the same. The sterling silver will continue to develop patina with wear, the high-contact areas lightening while the oxidized crevices deepen further. This is jewelry that evolves with the body that carries it.
The ruin is the design. Everything polished away is everything it refused to become.
