The Immortelle Salon Pannier is the unseen architecture of 18th-century dress — a quiet yet commanding foundation that defined the breadth and elegance of Rococo and court silhouettes. Worn beneath the skirt, it creates width without weight, allowing fabric to drape, pool, and move with intention. Though hidden from view, the pannier shaped posture, presence, and the visual language of power in historical dress.
The Immortelle Pannier is an original atelier design, created as a modern heirloom rather than a reproduction. Designed by the mistress of Immortelle, it balances structure and softness, extending the skirt outward at the hips while maintaining fluid movement through the center of the body. Lace detailing tempers the form, lending romance to what is, at its heart, a piece of architectural engineering.
Two width sizes are offered to accommodate different silhouettes and levels of drama:
Large Pannier: extends 15 inches from each hip, creating a total width of 30 inches - This Pannier requires a 10 yard skirt.
Small Pannier: extends 10 inches from each hip, creating a total width of 20 inches
Immortelle panniers are designed by width rather than size. Each style creates a distinct silhouette, while extended ties allow the pannier to wrap fully around the body or secure at the back, resulting in a flexible, one-size construction. The shape is intentional; the fit is universal.
Each pannier is designed to pair seamlessly with Immortelle 10 yard skirts, gowns, and overdresses, restoring historical proportion while remaining wearable and balanced. This is not a costume undergarment, but a foundational work of wearable art — meant to be worn beneath beauty, shaping it quietly and with purpose.
This is where elegance begins: beneath the skirt, unseen, yet essential.
