The exterior of the dress is fashioned out of black silk netting that has a slightly raised brilliant blue felt applique fused to it. The fabric is very unusual and wonderful - you will be constantly touching it! The cut of this dress is gorgeous! It has a high neckline with a huge exaggerated and pointed collar. The top skims over the bust and nips in at the waist. The sleeves are really amazing - they are to the elbow and made to pouf. The skirt skims over the hips to a slight flare as it ends below the knees. A superb example of this time period and in excellent condition.

Shoulders: they are inset at 12" across from seam to seam. Your actual shoulder will lie under the pouf of the top of the sleeve
Bust: 18" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Waist: 13.5" from side seam to side seam
Hips: to 18" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Bodice: 15" from shoulder to waist
Skirt: 30" from the waist to bottom hem

Unlined, it is styled here with a slip under it that is not included. It is completely sheer when worn. It closes down one side with snaps and hook & eye. There is a round button at the top of the back of the neck. There are some small stress areas at the seaming in the waist and upper hip area - it is priced accordingly. This is so unusual and unique this does not detract in my opinion.
