Victor Costa launched his label in 1974 and was known for producing versions of what was seen on the Paris runways. Costa chose good fabrics for his designs and even though his work was often very close interpretations of other designs, he did add his own unique twist when it came to colours, cut and fabrics. Some of his work is quite lovely and this dress is a really great one. I am in love with it!

This dress is so pretty and an easy dress to just pop on and walk out the door in. The cut is so flattering and it is incredibly easy to wear. It is made out of a soft cotton that has a bit of a waffle texture to it running through the coloured stripes. The print combines different widths of stripes and they mix soft pastel citrus colours with a deep blue. The stripes are set to follow and highlight the design of the dress. On the bodice you have a panel of them coming down and around the neckline and then wrapping around the waist. The rest of the bodice is set horizontally and then the fabric of the skirt is also set horizontally but because of all the gathering and tiers of the skirt it creates a completely different feel. It has a V neckline at the front and I love how the waist is set on a slight angle to take advantage of the striping pattern. Under that the skirt is full and falls to about ankle length depending on your height. It is made of three tiers of fabric and each one widens out as it hears the hem. There is a ton of fabric in it so when you move it moves beautifully around you. It is meant to be worn without a belt but you could easily cinch in the waist with a modern belt if you wanted to add more shape. Excellent condition.
