This antique satin and chiffon nightgown has been thoughtfully transformed into a wearable piece of living history. 

The skirt and back are made of fluid satin, while the bodice features sheer embroidered chiffon with delicate scrolling motifs. The silhouette follows a graceful bias-cut line typical of late 1930s lingerie design, allowing the fabric to drape softly over the body.

The nightgown was hand dyed twice to achieve its current soft moss green tone, resulting in subtle tonal variation throughout the fabric that enhances its character.

Two small age-related pinholes were stabilized and respectfully covered using antique appliqués placed on both the front and back. These additions were done intentionally to preserve the garment while honoring its history rather than disguising it

This piece is not mint conditionbut has been carefully revived so it can continue to be worn and appreciated.

The original belt was missing and has been replaced with a coordinating satin ribbon.

Today, this piece can be worn as:

• A romantic lounge or evening dress

• A layering slip under sheer garments

• A statement vintage piece styled with modern tailoring

• A collectible restored antique textile

Each irregularity is part of its story.

Any accessories used in the picture are not included, there are there to show how the outfit could be worn or a decorative object. I need to be honest. I sell Vintage and Antique Clothing and I would say anything before 30s should be treated with care and worn with care. Mostly these items will be fragile especially 20s silk or Edwardian very fine Muslin.  Some can not handle stress and will tear easily. Should be bought a size bigger where possible or should be a little loose on.
