This elegant early 1960s dress suit was designed by Christian Dior and sold in legendary Manhattan department store Saks Fifth Avenue. Tailored from chocolate brown and off-white silk satin, the fabric is printed with a printed Prince of Wales check that is luxuriously smooth. The jacket is cut to a boxy, double-breasted fit with a collarless neckline. There are six circular cut plastic buttons on the front. The dress is sleeveless and tailored to a classic shift silhouette. It has a rounded neckline and is detailed with two little square panels of coordinating cloth below the bust. It fastens at the back of the neck with a hidden brown zip. The jacket and dress are lined in taupe silk satin throughout. The jacket contains both Saks and Christian Dior labels.

This suit is in truly excellent vintage condition with no issues of any note and looks barely worn. There are no size or composition labels and the fabric has no stretch. We estimate a best fit for around a UK 10-12 or US 6-8 with a slimmer hip. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 33" (84cm), Waist: 26" (66cm), Hips: 34" (86cm) and Height: 5' 7" (170cm) and she's a size UK 6-8, US 2-4. This suit looked great on her with some room to spare.
