Kalamkari where kalam means pen and kari means art was originated in Andhra Pradesh. This art generally portraits scenes from sacred texts of mahabharat, ramayan and bhagwat. This saree is a machilipatnam style of kalamkari where motifs are essentially printed with handcarved traditional blocks in earthy tones such as Reds, blues, greens, yellows and browns . This is a super light weight saree ideal for summer wear as one's skin can actually breathe through this natural fabric.
The saree comes with its own running blouse piece. The model is wearing a separate blouse for styling purpose only.
Since this product is handwoven, there might be slight irregularities. But this is the charm of owning a pure handwoven beauty.
