The Patzun huipil is usually a shade of red and is hand-woven on a back-strap loom often with small vertical stripes. The daily use huipil has colorful flowers hand-embroidered around the neck. Women often wear decorative aprons as part of their "traje" (outfit). The ceremonial huipil has a Mayan Calendar design. They also like to wear beautiful turquoise necklaces.

The Artisans: Juana and her extended family weave Terra Experience's doll huipils and live in a small farmstead. At last count Juana had over 54 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Juana’s granddaughter (pictured in 2004) now is now studying nursing and at least two others are in the university.
