Designed for beauty and social impact, these jeans are a true work of art, featuring artfully distressed and repaired details in the Japanese Boro style. Each pair tells a story of resilience, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage. The Boro technique, originally used by rural Japanese communities to mend and extend the life of garments, is masterfully employed to add unique, textured patches and repairs to these jeans, transforming them into one-of-a-kind pieces. No two pieces are the same, due to the use of up-cycling discarded bandanas in the process.
What makes these pieces even more special is the story behind their creation. We partnered with local social enterprise 'Concur Patchwork' use a cottage-industries model, to empower a minority group of ethnic Malay women in Yala, Thailand, providing them with fair-wage work and the opportunity to showcase their incredible skills. These women upcycle vintage bandanas to make each repair, patchworking the jeans in elaborate detail. In partnership with social enterprise ‘Concur Patchwork’, one third of profits are invested directly back into these communities.
Wear these jeans as a tribute to the power of artisanal craftsmanship, cultural preservation, and the women who are reshaping their community. A symbol of strength, beauty, and ethical fashion that empowers both the wearer and the artisans who created them.
