Made from a med wt. woven wool (becomes semi-opaque under bright light) w/soft hand & a nice 'swishy' to the drape. Bodice of dress features a modest v-neckline & very lt. padded shoulders w/pleat style structure. Center back seam has inset 11.5" metal zipper. The most incredible design feature is the micro pleating that starts at the center front lower waistline & drops along the hips toward the back side. These 8 pleats then become small drapes at the backside, giving the skirt extra volume, which then becomes the skirt train. This dress had an area of snagged fabric, I professionally repaired this area and backed it w/silk crepeline. I wanted to accentuate the wonderful pleats, as well as conceal the repaired area, so I found a set of antique jet black beads; crescent moons, lightening bolts and droplets. Then, a ton of Swarovski rhinestones in gold, black & silver were added, along the pleats & peppered throughout. The entire process took about 2.5 years of work, on & off. The condition is excellent & ready to wear!
