THIS LISTING IS FOR THE WHITE COLOR BANGLE.
These cloisonné enamel bangles were made in the early 20th Century, most likely in China. The colors and design are just exquisite, and to appreciate the craftsmanship, one needs to understand the process of making cloisonné. Derived from the French word cloison (meaning "to separate") in this process fine metals are soldered to create a cloisonné of the desired pattern. These compartments are filled with different colors of opaque enamel, and the metallic outline emphasizes the intricacy of the design. I especially appreciate the tubular shape of the bracelet, with the design extending 360-degrees, visible from every angle. There is a tiny vent hole on the bracelet's interior (an integral part of the firing process in traditional handmade cloissoné) which is evidence of its antique age and superior craftsmanship, compared to more modern cloisonné jewelry. The interior diameter is 2 9/16", and the thickness is 5/8". Great antique condition. @VERYBREEZY — Follow us on Instagram for exclusive access to new arrivals!
